Beinn a Ghlo return

Adopted by Robert

This route offers a subtle way on to the Beinn a Ghlo ridge, exploring some of the massif’s complexities, rather than striking straight up the side of Carn Liath with everybody else. With some fine vistas of the individual tops as you climb you are soon delivered on to the bealach between Beinn Mhaol and Braigh Coire Chruinn-bhalgain. There is a newly constructed path for most of the way (apart from about 1.5km). It’s still a boggy track up the side of the burn, and it peters out on the shoulder over to Beinn Bheag, but have faith and pick up the path again at NN943710. It’s also a useful foul weather escape route to have up your sleeve as it can quickly get you off the ridge into the relative shelter of the corrie for a walk back out.
